Resham Dor was born out of our passion to preserve, promote and value the rich traditions and heritage of crafts in India. It started as an initiative to create awareness about the diminishing crafts across India!
This initiative has now evolved into a purpose-driven brand that focuses on bringing rare, unique and rich handcrafted products from lesser known craft clusters to consumers and global businesses. We currently collaborate with 12 craft clusters across Karnataka, West Bengal, Kerala and Gujarat.
The future for Resham Dor is shaping, fueled by our desire to work with craft communities to bridge the gap between artisan products and homes through design intervention and market access.

Meet Our Founder – Lakshmi Malhotra
Lakshmi Malhotra, the visionary behind Resham Dor, has always been deeply connected to India’s rich tapestry of art and craft. Growing up in Gujarat, a region renowned for its vibrant traditions, she was inspired by her mother’s collection of beautiful handloom sarees from Bengal and Orissa. This early exposure ignited her passion for textiles and craftsmanship.
With a successful 20-year career in IT across multinational corporations, Lakshmi decided to pivot towards her true calling— bridging the gap between the craft and current needs with design intervention and market access. Her journey led her to form close bonds with artisans, understanding their challenges and aspirations.
